Suzanne Juro Heron passed away peacefully at home on May 23, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was 45 years old.
Suzanne was the steady, beating heart of her home — a devoted wife, a faithful mother of six, and a woman whose love for Jesus shaped everything she did. For almost two years, she fought cancer with remarkable courage and grace, and she finished her race the same way she lived: trusting fully in the promises of her Savior.
A memorial service will be held on June 13, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Citadel Square Church in Charleston, SC.

About This Fund
This GoFundMe was originally established to help cover the cost of Suzanne's cancer treatments, including individualized therapies not covered by insurance. Any funds that were donated for her medical care and were not used will now be directed toward her memorial service expenses and care for the children.
Going forward, all contributions will go directly to support Steve and their six children — Tessa, Molly, Avery, Joel, Kate, and Charlotte — as they navigate this new season. Funds will be used for the children's daily needs, educational expenses, and the ongoing costs of caring for a family with six children.
Suzanne poured herself into her children every single day. If you would like to honor her life and continue that investment in the kids she loved so deeply, we would be grateful for your support.
Thank you for every prayer, every meal, every kind word, and every gift given over these past months. The Heron family has been overwhelmed by your love.

Suzanne is 19 months into her battle with cancer and she has continued to fight with remarkable courage and steadfastness. While the chemotherapy treatment has kept her cancer at bay, Steve and Suzanne have come to understand the hard reality that the path of systemic chemotherapy has real limits—on her body and her quality of life. So, they began asking harder questions, researching root causes, and seeking additional opinions. That search led them to a clinic in Arizona offering individualized, targeted therapies that account for the unique genetic makeup of her cancer—with far less collateral damage to her body. After a conversation with the medical team in Arizona, Steve and Suzanne both knew this was the next right step.
What made them so sure? God had been preparing their hearts for weeks. God kept bringing them back to His Word and one passage He continued to encourage them with has been Isaiah 41:10: "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Even at the end of their call with the clinic in Arizona, a nurse stopped and asked if she could pray—and read that exact verse over them!
Treatment begins March 11. Suzanne will be in Arizona for an estimated 12–15 weeks, and because this clinic operates outside standard insurance protocols, costs will run approximately $150,000—not including housing and transportation. So, you will notice the new GoFundMe goal of has been increased by that amount. Steve and Suzanne believe God has led them here, and He has provided at every turn over the past 18 months. We're asking for your prayers for Suzanne's healing and her strength, and for any financial support you're able to give. Every gift is an act of faith alongside this family in their story.

In September 2024, Suzanne was diagnosed with cancerous lesions on the liver, a result of metastasis from elsewhere in her body. As a result, she must undergo chemotherapy every other week for the immediate future.
To support her and the Heron family, we want to help cover the costs that come with her ongoing medical treatment.
