Renae's Fight with Breast Cancer

Hello, my name is Renae.

On July 22, 2025, my life changed forever when I was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (breast cancer) grade 3. It all started when I noticed a lump in my left breast close to my armpit. I was concerned, but it was small and something I had felt before in the past, so I wasn’t worried right away. A few months went by, and I noticed it getting larger. During a doctor's appointment, I was asked about my last mammogram, and I mentioned the lump to the nurse. I was examined, and the nurse sent a referral for me to get a mammogram. I got the mammogram, and my care team decided that they needed to do a biopsy. The results came back and changed my life forever.

I’m a 40-year-old mother of three. I’m employed full-time, but since my diagnosis, I’ve had several doctor's appointments, sometimes every day of the week, which has caused me to lose a lot of work hours. Soon, I will be off due to surgery. I have decided, along with my team of caregivers, that a bilateral mastectomy with no reconstruction (flat) is the best decision for my diagnosis. Once the surgery is over, I will be off for about 6 to 8 weeks, and once healed, I will be getting 15 to 20 rounds of radiation treatment, which lasts about four weeks.

I’m worried about financial stability as far as rent and bills while going through this journey. My coworkers and supervisor encouraged me to start this GoFundMe and have agreed to help support. I am a firm believer in Jesus Christ, and I know that I will be OK and that the outcome of my diagnosis is ultimately in His hands. I’m asking for everyone’s prayers and support. Anything will help. Thank you so much.

Updated Journey 10/2025
September 24th 2025 I had surgery to have both my breast removed. Everything went well my surgeon and plastic surgeon did an amazing job. All the cancer was removed also all lymph nodes taken out my left armpit were negative. I was told I am cancer free!!! The tumor they took out of my left breast was sent to a pathologist to be tested. The testing done called Oncotype which tells the percentage of the cancer reoccurring in the body. My percentage was high, so my oncologist recommends that I do chemotherapy to lower my percentage of the cancer returning. I will be starting chemotherapy October 31, 2025. My oncologist explained to me that after chemo treatment a few days later I will be feeling very sick and weak and may not be able to return to work for a few days. This is so unfortunate but I have to keep trusting in God and I have to keep fighting. I’m not going to give up and I know that I will get through this. I am still accepting donations prayers advice. God is good!! Thank you
