My name is Teri McCall and I am creating this GoFundMe for my son Paul, who is going through a financial and physical related hardship most likely due to mold poisoning.
My son, and his wife, moved out to the farm into the “house on the hill“ in 2012. Later that year, Paul was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. He also started having bad reactions to many different types of food and have terrible insomnia.
He was diagnosed with TMJD a couple of years later in 2014, and his jaw would make popping sounds whenever he talked or ate.
This was all very mysterious as he led a very healthy lifestyle. He didn’t drink or smoke, loved running and surfing, He had been active in the community, selling an assortment of dips at farmers markets all around the county. He was known as the “guac guy“.
The health conditions persisted. In 2023 after increasingly worse, seasonal allergies he was diagnosed with asthma and non-allergic rhinitis. During these years, he began to experience, chronic injuries, fatigue, and joint pain and stiffness uncommon for someone in his age.
Then, following a knee surgery in November 2024 his inflammation level started to rise and he became completely debilitated.
Often not able to get out of bed, he would go to the ER five times into 2025 for swollen joints and unrelenting fever. That same year he was diagnosed with enteropathic arthritis and was given a number of different biologics, which have terrible side effects and didn’t help him.
After some research and a professional mold, air test, Paul found out his house has a very high and untenable amount of toxic mold. This is where we are now.
Many say that all these conditions can be attributed to the mold or the inflammation that comes from mold exposure. The only way to know is to see if he recovers in a mold free environment.
After being in a tent for 10 days, Paul is now staying in some friend’s trailer. He is working with a functional health doctor to remove the mold and micro toxins from his body so he can start healing.
The remediation costs for his house are estimated to range from $20,000-50,000 This puts him in a very precarious financial position because he can’t work, is obligated to pay child support, and has been for every month for nine years. He has incurred lots of uncovered medical expenses. His disability claim has been denied and is on appeal. He is currently very weak, struggles to walk and has limited use of his hands.
Paul dreams of being able to work again, surf again and above all be the type of dad he was before the illnesses. We are asking the community to donate anything you can afford to help him pay for the remediation on his house and medical expenses. If you cannot afford to donate, please share this go fund me page with others.
Thank you so much.
