Support our Dad Mick as he recovers from surgery
Donazione protetta
Anyone who knows our parents knows how hard they work and care for their family. Growing up, we never went without anything we needed, even through hard times, and there is no way to ever thank them for that. Having a complication with this surgery has incurred a much higher cost than we were ever expecting, a longer recovery time and much heftier hospital bill than anyone should be given even with insurance. While my sister and I wish more than anything to be able to take that burden away as our parents always have done for us, it’s just not possible without some help.

On the 31st of August after our Dad had surgery for what was meant to be a partial knee replacement, his surgeon determined that the damage to his knee was far worse than they realized and had to make the decision to fully replace it. After two years of immense pain and the loss of a job that prolonged the wait for the surgery this was unfortunately the best call in the long run, but has brought a lot of stress and disruption to our lives in the meantime. In anticipation of three or more months before he is able to be self sufficient and mobile it means less time he is able to work and therefore, less money coming in. Our mom is working full time and caring for him in recovery as amazingly as she does, but with the new bills coming in daily from every facet of this surgery it’s a lot to take in. From anesthesiology to radiology to the very fashionable hospital gown he wore the cost has only grown. If you know our Dad, you know how hard he works and puts 100% into everything he does, and we are endlessly proud of him for that. It isn’t in his nature to ask anyone for help, but we feel that hard times are made less so when there are people by your side supporting you.
Whether you’re a friend or just know him in passing, anything is helpful and means the absolute world to our family. The recovery road is long but the McCulley Clan is a strong one, and the end of that road will be a cause for celebration.
