Family Ressettlment- Afghan refugee
Dear Friends, Neighbors, and Supporters,
We are a newly arrived Afghan refugee family of 5 that needs your financial help to help us become, as we so want, self-sufficient.
Here is my Story:

My Story: I am a college-educated Afghan refugee, fluent in English, French, and Dari, who fled Kabul on August 26, 2021, with my wife (a former teacher and pastry chef) and 3 young children (ages at that time: 10, 8 and 2 months). Because I worked for over 10 years in key positions as a Logistician with U.S.-affiliated humanitarian organizations, organizations focused on elevating women and children, it was clear that the Taliban--once they took over--would try to kill me. I, therefore, was granted Priority 2 Refugee Status—conditioned on our getting out of Afghanistan, somehow landing in a third country, (in our case, France, where we would not be eligible for benefits but) where we would be processed for refugee visas to come to the United States. We hoped and thought that processing would be 3-6 months. Instead, it took 3 challenging years, starting with just getting on one of the last airlifts out of Kabul.
On August 26, 2021, my family arrived at the Military Airport—only to find that getting on a military plane the 'normal way' was impossible, as 25,000 desperate Afghans created unimaginable gridlock. We Spent two nights there, and the last chance we had was less than three hours to get on one of the last planes leaving Kabul. How did we do it?
My family of 5— including my courageous wife still healing from a cesarean birth, my 8-year-old son, my 10-year-old daughter and myself- holding our newborn above my head- walked in a filthy sewer for 2 horrific hours, but we never gave up...and arrived --exhausted but jubilant at our destination: a Polish military transport that flew us out of Afghanistan. and saved our lives. Indeed, my beloved younger brother, who similarly worked in a key position with a U.S.-affiliated NGO, was murdered by the Taliban within 1 month of our departure.

Our 3 -year wait in France ended on November 13, 2024 when we gratefully and happily arrived in Philadelphia. We currently live with a family in Abington Township who have helped us settle and are helping us find employment. Theirs is a wonderful house, but it is far from transportation. This brings me to my most heartfelt request:
REQUEST: PLEASE we bought a reliable car for commuting to work 3 hr drive away, a very good start. We are living with nice family and need so much, but renting a house. We want more than anything to succeed in the United States and with your help, we know we can!
How You Can Help—please donate (ANY amount would be deeply appreciated!).
