I’m Oliver Taylor, and I'm a teenager. Ever since I was a little kid, I've always loved building things and making projects. My favorite projects have been a 15-foot-tall backyard trebuchet made from 2x4 wood pieces, a machine that recycles plastic water bottles into filament for a 3-D printer, a bed that functions as an alarm clock that shakes me awake using a NEMA 23 stepper motor and a rack-and-pinion drive, and a Voron 0 3-D printer. While all of these were super cool, my best project is still in progress. It includes several indoor 3-D printed beehives. The designs are modular. One of them is hexagonal and allows for honey collection. I'm excited to collect honey in my bedroom. The other one is a square-shaped experimental hive. The main cause of beehive death is from an external parasite called the Varroa destructor. I'm trying to develop better, more effective treatments for indoor observation hives. Also, I really like having bees in my room; it is a very cool experience to see what they do every day. I am funding the development of these hives, but every donation helps. If you would like to donate to my projects, it would be super helpful.
