Help Me Protect My Son & Secure Legal Representation

Hi, my name is Nina, and I’m a single mom to the most beautiful, kind, and strong 6 year old little boy. From the moment I found out I was pregnant, it has been just the two of us. I have raised my son completely on my own since birth, and he is my entire world.

His father has known about him since I was pregnant, but he has never met him, never helped financially, and never been involved in his life in any way. For six years, I have done everything alone, doctor visits, surgeries, preschool, childcare, sports, after school programs, emotional support, and every single expense that comes with raising a child. I never asked him for anything because my focus has always been on protecting my son and giving him a stable, loving life.

Recently, I filed for child support for the first time. It wasn’t easy for me, but I did it because raising a child is expensive, and I want to continue giving my son the best life I can. Shortly after filing, his father hired a lawyer and suddenly began seeking 50/50 custody, even though he has never had a relationship with our child. This has left me terrified and overwhelmed. My son doesn’t know him, and the thought of his life being disrupted breaks my heart.

I am doing everything I can to protect my son’s stability, safety, and emotional well being. Unfortunately, I cannot afford a lawyer on my own, and legal representation is critical to ensure my son’s best interests are protected in court. The cost of attorney fees, court filings, and legal preparation is more than I can manage by myself.

If you know me, then you know that asking for help has always been tough and very uncomfortable for me. I have always had the “I can do it myself” mindset set. But I realize this is a fight that I cannot fight alone, and I am here to humbly ask each and every one of you for help.
