Hello Dear everyone,

I would like to express my deepest gratitude from the bottom of my heart as Miri’s parents.

To everyone who supported us by donating thru this Go fund me, supported thru garage sale by shopping, donating wonderful items and baking delicious treats and so on—thank you so much. Your kindness has given us immense courage and strength. Everyone’s smile give us so much strength. It truly helped us realize that we are not alone. Though her treatment journey has lasted over 3years, seeing all of your smiles have completely recharged her spirit. It has given us the courage to face her major treatment next week.

A special thanks once again to everyone who continues to send us energy and support us.

Hi everyone,

Thank you so much for organizing this Go Fund Me account and the garage sale. It truly means more than I can put into words. My heart is so full.

My mom showed me the photos, and seeing everyone’s beautiful smiles and all the love and positive energy surrounding the event gave me so much strength. It also made me so happy to see the faces of friends I hadn’t seen in such a long time.

Seeing everyone reminded me that I’m not fighting this alone, and it gave me even more motivation to keep pushing forward with my treatment. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the love, support, and incredible energy you’ve sent my way. I will keep fighting!

Hello everyone,

We are reopening this GoFundMe to share an important update with all of you who have supported Miri Nakamura in the past. Many of you may already be following her journey on Instagram (@miri.nakamura / @miriam00n), where she continues to share her story. Here is a brief summary of the past three years.

In 2023, Miri bravely fought cancer in her knee, undergoing a knee replacement and chemotherapy, and eventually returning to her university classes. Unfortunately, the cancer returned, leading to an above knee amputation of her left leg. Since then, she has gone in and out of remission, but the cancer has continued to come back—most recently in her lungs. After multiple surgeries and treatments, she has lost more than half of her lung capacity and is now facing yet another recurrence. Miri is now preparing to begin a new treatment. Because this treatment is not covered by insurance, her family will be responsible for the full cost. For this reason, we are once again asking for your support during this critical time.

Despite everything she has faced, Miri never stepped away from her education. She continued studying through the hardest moments, and this past June, she proudly graduated from Seattle University - an incredible achievement that reflects her strength and determination. Her family continues to fight alongside her every step of the way.

As Miri enters this next phase of treatment, your support can make a profound difference. We kindly ask for your help in supporting Miri and her family, and we would be deeply grateful if you could also share this campaign to help spread the word.

中村美莉さんを支援してくださっている皆さまへ、近況をご報告したく、GoFundMe のアカウントを再開いたしました。 すでにご存じの方も多いかと思いますが、美莉さんは現在、インスタグラム（@miri.nakamura / @miriam00n）で日々の道のりを発信し続けています。ここでは、この3年間の歩みを改めて簡潔にまとめてお伝えします。 2023年、最初に膝に発症した癌と闘い、人工膝の手術と抗がん治療を経て、大学の授業にも復帰することができました。しかしその後、癌は再発し、左脚の膝上切断を余儀なくされました。 その後も回復と後退を繰り返しながら懸命に治療を続けてきましたが、癌は度々再発し、直近では肺に転移。複数回の手術と抗がん治療により、肺の半分以上を失うこととなりました。そして今、また新たな再発と向き合っています。 今回、美莉さんは 新しい治療に挑戦することになりました。 この治療は保険適用外であり、今後の医療費はすべてご家族の自己負担となります。 そのため、皆さまのお力を再びお借りしたく、GoFundMe を再開することにいたしました。 病と向き合いながらも、美莉さんは学業を決して諦めませんでした。どんなに苦しい時も前に進み続け、この6月にはシアトル大学を無事卒業するという素晴らしい節目を迎えました。ご家族もまた、共に寄り添い闘い続けています。 次の治療を乗り越え、再び回復の軌道に乗るために どうか美莉さんとご家族を支えるためのご支援をお願い申し上げます。 また、支援の輪が一人でも多く広がるよう、皆さまのSNS等でのシェアも大きな力となります。 心より感謝申し上げます。
