For nearly a decade, Andreas Davi has been the heart and soul of the Milwaukee Torrent. He founded the club in 2015 to make soccer accessible and build a community that was about more than just the game. A dedicated teacher at St. Marcus School in Milwaukee since 2016, Andreas has poured his passion into creating a space where players can thrive, both on and off the field.
On August 9th, a devastating flood tore through the Milwaukee Torrent facility at Hart Park, causing over $50,000 in losses and threatening the very future of the club. In their attempts to rebuild, they have faced one setback after another. A claim with FEMA was denied and both the club's and Andreas's personal insurance claims have been denied, leaving them to face this crisis alone.
The flood destroyed virtually everything: all merchandise, all training and game-day equipment, and all medical supplies. The only items salvageable were a few banners. Without these essentials, the Torrent cannot hold practices, run games, or continue its vital community programs.
The Milwaukee Torrent is more than a club; it's a lifeline for hundreds of kids and families across Southeastern Wisconsin. Its school partnerships provide a safe space for children to grow, while its youth programs offer a chance for players to compete nationally. Without immediate help, this vital community resource is in danger of disappearing forever.
This GoFundMe, operated by the volunteer board members of Wales Youth Soccer and St. Marcus School, is our chance to help Andreas and the Torrent get back on their feet. 100% of all funds will go directly to replacing what was lost. The Milwaukee Torrent's survival depends on us. Please donate and share to help save this incredible community asset and ensure its kids can continue playing the sport they love. #anchoredtogether
