My name is Matthew, and my life has not been an easy one. I grew up in unstable homes shaped by violence and poverty, and for years I tried to handle everything on my own.
Five years ago, I entered long-term medical treatment for severe mental health conditions, and since then every dollar of my disability income has gone directly to supervised housing, treatment, and medical care. As a result, I have no real way to save for the future, even though I am doing everything in my power to improve my situation. One thing I want people to know is that I am not someone who has given up.
I am a student in Hot Springs, Arkansas, working toward my bachelor’s degree in business, something I never thought I would be able to achieve. I study hard, I stay clean, I follow my treatment plan, and I work every day to build a better version of myself. I am trying to stand on my own, but the reality is that my circumstances leave me with no financial room to prepare for what comes next. My treatment season is coming to an end soon, and when it does, I will be required to relocate.
Without any savings for housing, transportation, clothing, or even basic legal steps I need for a clean start, I face a real risk of homelessness and losing the progress I’ve worked so hard to build. That is why I am reaching out now. I want to begin building the foundation I will need so that when this transition comes, I can move into stable housing, secure reliable transportation, and not be left with nothing.
Your support will go directly toward necessities and toward giving me the chance to start a stable, independent life after treatment. It will help me cover clothing, future housing deposits, transportation, and the steps I need to seal old court records so I can be judged for who I am becoming, not who I was when I was struggling without support. I am deeply grateful for any help.
You are supporting someone who is genuinely trying, someone who is putting in the work and simply needs a hand up to avoid falling through the cracks. You are in my prayers. May God bless you for your generosity and kindness.
