Support Mateo Perez Lara's Recovery Journey

My name is Mateo Perez Lara. I am a writer and community advocate / teacher from Bakersfield, California. I hesitated to make this gofundme because I was sure I could go back to work quickly but I've now realized my body needs more time. I recently had an accident in which I sprained my ankle and tore a ligament. I've unfortunately been out of work for two weeks now.

I help pay rent with my grandmother from which our rent is $700. Plus I help pay the light bill, wifi, water, and car payment which totals more than $600. We usually split the payments. Because of my injury it has made September and will make October difficult. Until I return back to work. Funds will go toward food, bills, sustenance.

I was working as a part time after school coordinator. But since I haven't been able to properly walk or drive to work, I haven't been able to cover some bills and finances which have currently put a strain on me and my grandmother.

I fell from our porch steps helping her outside.

I also offer writing services in exchange for donations until I am recovered and can go back to work. Anything helps.

I'm a hard worker. I am sober. I try to help community and I'm writing as well.

This is only temporary but I haven't had any luck finding remote work and I would like the stress for at least right now to be eased somewhat.
