Support The Facundus Family After Tragic Loss

My name is Noel (Curcio) Kerr and I am organizing this fundraiser for my cousin Marisa (Martucci) and Desman Facundus and their beautiful little family.

As most of you know, Marisa and Desman Facundus suffered an unimaginable loss on August 25th when their precious daughter, Kaia James, passed away after being born prematurely on August 21st at 25 weeks, weighing just 2lbs, .03 ounces, suffering from fetal acidosis. Devastation isn’t a big enough word to convey the soul crushing heartache they have had to experience in light of this tragic event. This has been a waking nightmare for the Facundus family and after battling infertility for years, and the uncertainty that road can lead to by itself, there was no baby more wanted, more loved, and more prayed over than this sweet angel, who was seemingly perfect in every way.

Little Kaia James fought with everything she had for four days in the NICU and reminded all of us in this short time about hope, belief, strength and most importantly, the importance of a family’s bond and eternal love.

While Marisa, Desman and Kaia’s brother, Brooks, just 3 years old, now face the uncertain, bumpy road that grief can take you on, they do know one thing, Kaia James Facundus will never be forgotten! Little Kaia will shine down from above and be sure that Mommy, Daddy and Brooks find joy and light in each and every day as they move through this new vision of life, as that is what Kaia brought them in her short time she was blessed to be here.

I am hoping to raise funds for their little family so that in ANY way there can be at least one less hardship to deal with after this unimaginable tragedy and loss. It takes time to grieve, including taking time off of work, the incurring immense hospital bills, funeral expenses, as well as having to continue to pay off their infertility bills.

As if continuing to try to function amidst the heartbreak isn’t enough for this young family, the last thing they should have to be concerned about is finances. I am hopeful that we can come together to be at least a little glimmer of hope and blessings for their lives, so they can do the ONLY thing they need to do right now: grieve their precious, beautiful angel baby, Kaia James.
