Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

My name is Ruben Perez Pastor, and I am reaching out on behalf of the love of my life, Maria Inez Iraheta, who suffered a life-altering accident on February 7, 2025. In an instant, our future changed forever.

Maria, a dedicated X-Ray & MRI technician and loving mother of two, has always been a source of strength for everyone around her. She came to this country from El Salvador as a young girl and built a life through sheer determination, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to her family. She is an amazing human being!

On that tragic day, Maria was struck by a car in the parking lot at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, while retrieving her work badge. This unexpected and devastating accident has left her with severe injuries. After four weeks in intensive care, she was transferred to a rehab facility, where she started her long and painful journey to recovery.

At first, my only focus was ensuring she survived and received the best medical care. But now, as more than a month has passed, the reality of our new life has finally sunk in. There are many uncertainties awaiting Maria: the uncertainty of future medical and everyday expenses, the uncertainty of whether Maria will sustain any long-term or permanent disabilities, and the uncertainty of whether Maria will ever be able to work again—a profession she loves and has devoted the past 35 years of her life to.

It is humbling to ask for help, but I know that Maria needs it. Every donation will go directly toward her medical care, rehabilitation, and keeping her home—the one she worked so hard to build.
