Dear Friends, Family, and Community,
We come to you with heavy hearts as our dear friend, Darius “Mak” Clayton, faces a daunting challenge: a recent diagnosis of malignant retroperitoneal cancer. As his family, neighbors, and admirers, we are rallying together to support him during this difficult time.
Mak is an extraordinary individual who has dedicated his life to uplifting others. He is not only a talented spoken-word poet, stand-up comedian, emcee, and producer, but he has also devoted over 10 years to helping Memphis’ unhoused and needy neighbors through his work at the Hospitality Hub and Calvary Church. His compassion and commitment to service have made a significant impact in our community.
Now, it’s time for us to give back to Mak. He needs to focus on his health and recovery, and we want to ease the financial burden that comes with this illness. The funds raised will go toward:
• Medical bills
• Living expenses during his recovery when he is unable to work
Every contribution, no matter how small, will help alleviate the financial stress and allow Mak to concentrate on healing. Your generosity means the world to him and to all of us who care deeply for him.
Please consider making a donation and sharing this campaign within your circles. Together, we can help Mak in this tough fight and show him the love and support he has given so many.
If you have any questions or would like more information about this fundraiser, please let Lisa Abell, Mary Nease, or Christine Todd know.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
