Hello! My name is Liv Sands—I'm a Canadian shot putter, a proud student-athlete at Western University, and a lifelong member of the Byron community in London. I'm currently training and competing with the goal of earning a spot on a senior national team—and I’m hoping for your support to get there. Over the next couple of years, I will continue to dedicate myself fully to intensive training, travelling for competitions, and pursuing excellence at the highest level of my sport. I am very proud that this year I have been selected to represent Canada on two Junior National teams competing at the U23 Pan Ams and FISU. While Pan Ams is fully funded by Athletics Canada, FISU is solely funded by the athletes. This year, the estimated cost to participate at FISU is $5000.

This journey isn’t just about the next competition—it's about building toward a lifelong dream: representing Canada at the Olympic Games. That means committing now, putting in the work, and having the right resources to make it possible. In order to achieve my goals, it is imperative to travel internationally to high-ranked meets to increase my World Athletics ranking and points. Your support will help cover critical costs like equipment, travel, treatment, and entry fees, allowing me to focus on becoming the best athlete I can be. This, along with hard work, will elevate my chances of being a part of senior national teams.
