On Sunday, April 5th, Kimberly Gaynor and her daughter, Amelia Warren, were driving back to Tampa from Jacksonville when their lives changed in an instant. Their vehicle was struck by another car traveling at 65 mph, causing a devastating accident.
Both Kim and Amelia were rushed to Shands Hospital in Gainesville with serious injuries.
Amelia suffered a hernia and had to undergo surgery on April 6th. While the surgery was successful, she is still in recovery and facing a long and difficult healing process ahead.
Kim’s injuries are even more severe. She has a fractured sternum, fractures in her C4 and T4 vertebrae, and a pneumothorax (collapsed lung). She is still in the hospital, and doctors are discussing the possibility of sternum surgery. Her recovery will be long, painful, and uncertain.
At this time, neither Kim nor Amelia has a confirmed discharge date. On top of everything, Kim was supposed to start a new job this week but will now be unable to work for at least 3–4 weeks, if not longer. Their car was completely totaled in the accident.
This family is facing not only physical and emotional trauma, but also mounting medical bills, lost income, and everyday expenses during this incredibly difficult time.
If you are able, please consider donating to help support Kim and Amelia as they focus on healing. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this would mean so much to their family.
Thank you for your kindness, prayers, and support during this heartbreaking time.
