Well hello everyone, my name is Ken Nicholson. I am here to help someone who is most dear to me, my husband Ken Pettit.
A year ago, that picture of a man healthy and strong was him. Then in January of 2024, things started to change. I noticed that he was having a few issues with memory. And there was what I called conversation salad, where he would be having a conversation and just start adding facts and events randomly to those conversations like they were absolutely real.
He actually noticed these issues at that time. This continued on till April when he started having issues with his right leg. Weakness and stamina problems.
Now both issues were affecting his daily living, progressing until finally we were able to get him to the hospital. It is now August.
STROKE! WHAT? Not just one but two and they were on bilateral sides, left worse than right.
Strokes at the age of 55. It has affected his mobility, with him having to use walkers, canes, and a wheelchair at times. He has major recent memory issues and some intermediate memory problems also. He also has neurogenic bladder. I am not explaining that one. It's traumatic for him, nonetheless.
So that is a great start to his tragic life at this time.
