Support Kal's Fight Against Rare Sarcoma

It’s been a bit since we’ve shared a Kal update. The past week we’ve shared the greatest of joys life has to offer and the deepest of heart aches.

There is no easy way to share this update; we brought Kallaghan home on Hospice last Friday.

Dr House met with us Wednesday and the sarcoma is wrapped around his aorta and his lungs. It’s inoperable; it is aggressively increasing in size rapidly and we are at the point that it’s about keeping him comfortable. So our focus has become just that and quality time with Kal.

When Dr House asked Kal what he said he promised to be at Reo and Catie’s wedding Saturday, go home to see his dog Paisley so that is what we made happen.

Thanks to the wedding almost all of our family was here to spend quality time together. His friends have all been able to visit and spend time with him too over the weekend. Our home has overflowed with Kal stories, laughter, tears and immeasurable amounts of love.

He is comfortable, content and peaceful here at home. And this MaMa’s heart is grateful for all of these precious moments and at peace.

We continue to have an open door policy for anyone who wants to come see us. So please come visit if you’d like. We want Kal to know just how loved and cherished he is here on Earth before his Heavenly Homecoming.
