We are asking for support for Josh, his wife Raena, and their dear children, Zio (6) & Stella (4).

Many of you know that at age 33, Josh was diagnosed with a rare bile duct cancer (Cholangiocarcinoma) in November of 2016. After lifesaving surgery, thank you to Dr. Jenkins, and follow up treatment at Lahey Medical Center, Josh seemingly beat the odds and beat cancer! It wasn’t until early 2024 that Josh and Raena would get the devastating news that this battle was not yet over. Since then, Josh has endured more rounds of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation and surgery just before Thanksgiving in 2025.

Josh remarkably is in the top 5% of people who survive this complicated cancer and has been a beacon of hope to others with this seemingly impossible cancer. Yet from day one Raena has said, “There are outliers in every statistic and even if the odds are one in a Billion, you have to believe YOU are the ONE."

Having a positive outlook and unyielding faith from the start has been the foundation of his fight and Josh has been an absolute warrior, who has been facing this uphill battle head-on with the same grit and determination that made him a champion level dirtbike rider, 84 STRONG! Having Raena and his amazing parents by his side, who sacrifice without hesitation, helps in unimaginable ways.

But what gives him that fearless resolve to keep fighting each day is his beloved children, Zio and Stella. There is nothing more important to Josh than being their Dad.

So, they continue to push forward, as they have over these past ten years. Never giving up, never losing hope, and having faith that God will guide them in the right direction as he has since day one in 2016.

At the beginning of this new year, they followed their hearts and intuition to a unique integrative cancer healing clinic in Irvine, California, where Josh underwent extensive testing alongside alternative therapies to support his body. Each day his body and spirit were being revitalized, and everyone could tell this was helping. Realizing that there are far more available treatments and therapies outside of their home State of Massachusetts, they continued their search for precision care for Josh. They recently took a great leap of faith and temporarily relocated their family to Scottsdale, Arizona, where the unique laws of the State allow doctors and medical facilities to combine natural/alternative, and conventional medicine to treat and HEAL patients. The medical center they decided upon provides precision integrative oncology care, guided by advanced diagnostics.

Josh will be receiving daily treatment over the next several weeks to support his body while undergoing the personalized fractionated chemotherapy and repurposed drug combinations which his cancer has shown to be responsive to and will be closely monitored to make adjustments as indicated to target the constantly evolving cancer.

Since this is considered an alternative treatment, it is not, however, covered by insurance. The estimated cost is upwards of $185,000. At this moment they genuinely need our support, and every contribution will go directly to help with these medical expenses and potentially cover some of the cost to relocate for several months.

We are asking on their behalf that you come alongside them in this fight. 2026 marks ten years since they and their family have been absorbing unending medical costs and challenges. As their family, friends and community, we can help to ease the financial burden for this next step so that they can take this time to focus on Josh’s healing. We are sincerely grateful for your support in Josh’s treatment, Raena’s resilience, and the stability and care this will help provide for Zio and Stella.
