Jordan has been enduring a long battle of going from doctor to doctor to find out why she hasn’t gotten any better. Since 2021, her health had been declining steadily. That was until this year, when her health really began to decline.
Jordan has had medical issues for most of her life, starting with a diagnosis of GERD and a goiter at only 5 years old. After seeing various doctors and going back and forth with her primary care, at the age of 8, she was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Disease, which then later on around the age of 11 became acquired Hypothyroidism. At the same time, she was diagnosed with Gastroparesis after undergoing two endoscopies at such a young age. And yet, this was just the beginning.
Fast forward to Jordan at 13 years old — her thyroid health is being managed and she’s learning how to live the rest of her life without a functioning thyroid. Then comes along her first sign of her worst condition - POTS. Jordan was hospitalized various times between the ages of 13 to 16 due to tachycardia and what would later be diagnosed as a Right Bundle Branch Block.
With the help of her primary care, and lots of research and assistance from her specialists, Jordan at the age of 22 finally has received the answers to most of her medical issues. Jordan has been diagnosed with POTS, Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, and Long Covid Syndrome.
All of these conditions combined have unfortunately caused Jordan to become permanently disabled. She is receiving IV infusions weekly now to try to keep her as healthy as possible while her body continues to attack itself. These weekly visits to her primary care, multiple specialists, and to receive infusions are unfortunately adding up financially.
Now that she is disabled, Jordan is unable to work. She is in the process of applying for disability, but for the time being, the copays and treatment costs are getting too much. We don’t expect anybody to pitch in, but it would be a tremendous help. Even a penny helps take the medical debt down, and more importantly helps take the stress off of Jordan so she can focus on learning how to take care of herself and try to live as normal of a life as she can.
