On Father’s Day, Sunday, June 15th, Jennafah Dawn—beloved owner of The Uncommon Cottage and a long-time advocate for the arts—was the victim of a horrific attack while assisting vendors in setting up for her art market outside her store.

For nearly two decades, Jennafah has been a cornerstone of the greater Seattle arts community, dedicating her time, energy, and resources to uplifting local artists and small businesses. Tragically, despite her unwavering support, she has recently faced increasing challenges.

This most recent incident has had a profound impact—not only on Jennafah but on everyone involved. After investing significant time and money into organizing this and previous events, Jennafah was robbed of the opportunity to host the market and generate income from her efforts.
