Just days after giving birth to their beautiful daughter, Sienna, Jen went to the hospital with shortness of breath. After being admitted overnight and getting several tests, she was diagnosed with the rare condition of peripartum cardiomyopathy. The team at Madigan Army Medical Center quickly identified the condition and transferred her to University of Washington Medical Center where she was placed on ECMO life support. She underwent surgery to place a total artificial heart (SynCardia 50cc) on 28 November 2017. This will be a bridge to a heart transplant. This has been a hard time for her family, especially for her husband, Chris, and their two young children. The money donated here will go toward items for the kids (diapers, formula, etc) while family helps care for them, gas for Chris to travel between the hospital and their home (1.5 hour drive), and travel for close family to assist in the coming months.
