After serving 20 years in the military and another 17 years as a peace officer, I never imagined I would be facing one of the toughest battles of my life. I was diagnosed with stage three cancer, and despite my hopes to continue working for a few more years before retirement, my health made it impossible to keep up. Recently, I received the news that my cancer had progressed to stage four. For the past year, I have been undergoing chemotherapy and doing everything I can to fight, but the financial strain has been overwhelming. My savings have been depleted by hospital bills and ongoing treatments, and the dream of a well-deserved, peaceful retirement now feels out of reach.
I have been referred to an oncologist at Stanford, but the consultation and travel costs are more than I can manage right now. The round trip alone is eight hours, and every expense adds up quickly. I have always tried to provide for myself and never thought I would need to ask for help, but I am reaching out now because I truly need support. Any funds received will go directly toward my medical expenses and the costs associated with getting the care I need. Your kindness and generosity would mean the world to me as I continue this fight. Thank you for considering a donation and for standing by me during this difficult time.
