I officially became a pilot this summer, achieving my Private Pilot’s License at Pavco Flight Center.
This is a moment I’ve been working towards for quite some time, and words can’t express how grateful I am for all the support I’ve been given from family, friends, instructors, and colleagues.
I formally began my aviation training 3 years ago, training on and off while working, not for personal gain but for the sole purpose of becoming a charity pilot, using my platform as a humanitarian to raise awareness of issues we all struggle against.
That is why, for my next humanitarian mission, I will be challenging our community to unite in order to address homelessness, poverty, and the cost of living with something I call my:
Humanity Flight!
Overall, homelessness is increasing across the American West Coast, while Washington State has experienced its highest homelessness rate in recent history.
That is why, this November, I plan to fly this airplane from Tacoma, WA to our state capital in Olympia, WA in order to help raise funds to address homelessness in the Puget Sound Region.
Between now and November, I will be campaigning and asking the community to help me raise $30,000 for homelessness. If we reach our milestone, I will take my flight from Tacoma to Olympia during the week before Thanksgiving.
"A flight for the fight against homelessness"
If we don’t reach this number, I will cancel the flight and try again on another date until we reach the goal.
But if we do reach $30,000, not only will I take my flight to the capital, but I will host an event inside the State Capitol building, inviting leaders, legislators, business people, politicians, psychologists, sociologists, the community, and YOU to come and have a conversation about what it will truly look like to work towards ending homelessness in the Puget Sound.
I call this event the “Humanity Summit.” All who have a desire to create solutions to fight poverty, inequality, and homelessness will be welcome regardless of their political leaning, religion, or class.
The $30,000 will go towards the plan we create during the “Humanity Summit” and will help to launch the new effort.
If you’re interested in helping me organize the event, please contact me!
Stay tuned for upcoming updates regarding the date and time of the Humanity Summit as we get closer to November.
