I am 55 years old and I was working 60 or 70 hours a week right up until September 3rd when I went to the doctors because I couldn't breathe. I stayed in the hospital for a couple of days and were sent home with all kinds of medication that I have never taken any medication before this I made it about 2 weeks and had to go back to the emergency room and I am currently at Tufts Boston in the ICU awaiting a heart transplant. This was so sudden obviously I could not prepare for it I had no idea until September 3rd I thought I had pneumonia or some other kind of flu or something keeping me from breathing well. To tell you a little about me I spent 7 years in the Marine Corps with an honorable discharge. Obviously while I'm in the hospital and while I recover I will be making no money and since this was all of a sudden and I was not prepared my wife at home needs some sort of help and we need to pay our rent while I get the transplant and recover. You can see me at the Heart brother's foundation website there are pictures of me with the Heart Brothers volunteers. I am asking for help because I have no other source maybe other fellow Marines out there that could help me with anything. I have been in the hospital for about a month and a half now I am a Status 2 on the Transplant list. This is a high priority so I'm hoping to have a heart within a month or so. Someone out there please help me to keep a roof over my wife's head and have a place for me to recover when I get out of here Thank you very much, Semper Fidelis
May I introduce myself, this is Greg’s wife Jayne.
Greg’s life has been alter with this unfathomable health crisis.
Thank you Greg, thank you for being the solid strong man you have been throughout the years. After seven years in the Marine Corps, and eventually finding each other. I thank God for our unity.
Greg is currently in CCU ICU connected to an Impella Heart Pump device to maintain his heart functions until the time comes when the Transplant Team will let him know they have received a matching Donor, and a Heart Transplant surgery can occur and go forward and Bless Greg with a new Life and a new Heart.
To all who are reading this deep plea for support of our family during this world wind of a health crisis.
Along with the emotional toll and absolutely left field hit of a life threatening, life altering health crisis we are faced with financial hardship. The extent of the Financial loss, without Greg’s income he was financially securing, as head of the house he was shouldering all of the financial support for our household. The future of expenses and current expenses weigh heavy on both of us. It is all quite overwhelming and will be an added financial expense post surgery and until Greg's health and recovery is regained.
At this time, may I ask for your support to help our Journey of Greg's Heart Transplant and Recovery of GOD's Blessing of Life, through the aid of a compassionate Heart Donor and the wisdom, knowledge and skill of the Heart Transplant Team and Foundation. This is a time for generosity of spirit and charitable donation. Our family is in deep need and also deeply appreciative of any and all contributions will be helpful, even a few dollars if that's all you're able to give. If you are unable but would still like to contribute in some way, please share this page with any and all you know.
Transportation for me during his hospital stay before surgery, with hope of donations to aid in support helping me to able to stay local to hospital as he has surgery and short time post surgery. Continued transportation costs when in recovery ICU until day of discharge.
Future expenses as we gather information about the life change and major adjustment we will need to safely, securely insure the anti-bacterial priority of our environment to aid in the safe healing recovery from this major heart transplant surgery. Post surgery life
at home will change significantly without doubt from ensuring bathroom & bathing support systems and accommodations. Everything needs to be completely sterile, costs of cleaning supplies will be an absolute must to have on hand at all times. Kitchen and nutritional requirements will be an continued added long term expense. In addition to all new life supplies required to aid Greg’s healing & recovery. Medical supplies, new medicines we do not know if they are covered by Health Plan. Nutritional requirements and supplies to properly prepare food as designated by Heart Transplant Nutritional guidelines of what food to choose, what cooking utensils required to insure safety of food preparations.
It is all quite a lot and will be an added financial expense of unknown proportion. All in addition to continued costs of maintaining household bills over the months of recovery until Greg can return to a new reduced work life.
All the unknowns weigh heavy on our foresight of the future. At this time our focus is spending as much time together to reconcile with this life altering health crisis to a hard-working family oriented dedicated provider. The thought of Greg absolutely being stunted from working and providing as head of household was definitely and unknown to our life. This is a time for generosity of spirit and charitable donation. This is an opportunity for you to give to a family who is in deep need and also deeply appreciative for their second chance at life.
Please help uplift Greg's strength and spirit through prayers and any assistance as he face's the deepest journey of his Lifetime on this successful road to recovery of Life.
