Support Gannon's St Raymond’s School: Laptops for Learning
Donazione protetta
Gannon’s St. Raymonds is a Catholic primary school in a small village located outside of Kisumu, Kenya that my family has helped fund since its founding in 2014. During my recent visit to the school, I was taken aback by how smiley, motivated, kind, and inquisitive all 380 students were—especially with their limited resources. Both the students and teachers made it clear how desperately they need better access to textbooks as they currently only have 1 physical book per class. Due to textbooks being extremely expensive in Kenya and expiring every 5 years, we’ve decided that e-textbooks are the best solution.
That’s where you all come in! Philanthropy can sometimes be perceived as something you prioritize later in life once you have more disposable income to give. I’m 26 and, while I one day hope to be able to contribute bigger donations to this project and others close to my heart, I’ve learned through my visit that every dollar counts. The power of giving a small donation (it could even be just $5!) will make a huge impact on these students’ lives through providing them the best education possible.
The current plan is to provide 8th, 7th, 6th, & 5th grades with laptops and a projector. Each laptop costs $300 and the projectors cost $100.
No donation is too small or too big and every cent counts! Nelly, the 8th grade (unofficial) school president, is our boots on the ground “correspondent” who will provide video messages and pictures of the kids so you all see exactly who you’re helping ♥️
