Koedy and Danielle Harper’s son, Levi, has spent most of his life in hospitals and intensive care units fighting for stability. Born early in the morning on April 24, 2025, baby Levi was born 24+5 weeks old at 2lbs 4ounces, a micro preemie. As a result, Levi has endured a long and complex medical journey that has included extended NICU stays, multiple brain surgeries to manage hydrocephalus, shunt placements and revisions, catheter insertions designed to drain excess cerebrospinal fluid and relieve dangerous pressure on his brain, emergency procedures, and repeated hospital readmissions.

Throughout this journey, Danielle and Koedy have spent countless nights sleeping in hospital rooms—listening to monitors, responding to alarms, advocating for their son during medical emergencies, and making impossible decisions while exhausted and emotionally drained. Levi has experienced seizures, prolonged discomfort, limited ability to be held, and repeated procedures that no child—or parent—should have to endure.

As friends and members of the wider community, many of us have followed Levi’s story through the Harpers’ CaringBridge updates, written with remarkable honesty through each moment, faith, and resilience. While the emotional, physical, and spiritual toll has been heavy, the financial burden is also significant. Extended hospital stays, specialized neurosurgical care, medications, missed work, and the realities of living between home and hospital have created overwhelming medical expenses.
