On March 17, 2020, Garett Blackwell lost his battle with depression. He leaves behind a loving wife, four year old daughter and a teenage son.

Garett was an amazing father, a loving son and brother. He loved his wife with everything he had. He was so funny and kind, the kind of guy you would want sitting by you as you grilled meat on the patio. He was a best friend, and a fun uncle. He was a beer fanatic, making some of the best beer imaginable. He loved Nascar and the 49ers. He was a peace officer, and proud of the badge he wore daily. Most of all, he was loved.

This has obviously been an unexpected tragedy, that nobody was prepared for. Not only was he a loving father, son, brother, and friend, he also provided half of the household income for his family. As such, his wife Nicole is faced with unimaginable decisions over the next several months, and needs our help, both emotionally and financially.

On top of mourning for her husband, and trying to maintain the home they shared, Nicole is also planning a funeral and deciding how to move forward. Any support that can be given would be greatly appreciated. All funds received will go directly to the family for funeral expenses, household bills, childcare, and supplies the family will need.

We pray he is now at peace. As he looks down on us, may he see the love of his family, friends, and brothers and sisters in green.
