Bill Safos was a beloved television news reporter for two stations in Cleveland, Channel 3, and Channel 19, for a number of years.. Ill health, including cancer and heart issues forced him to retire . In his retirement he was taking care of his mother who is suffering from Alzheimer’s and his 86-year-old father. On Wednesday December 11th he was crossing Madison Avenue in Lakewood Ohio, and was struck and killed by a car. The family is facing expenses around the funeral and other more significant issues involving the parents who depended on Bill‘s income to keep their home together.
