**UPDATE**

After not feeling well and a few days prior to a scheduled scan Mak was sent into the ER to see what might be causing her fevers and some other symptoms, it was discovered that Mak had most likely relapsed. A biopsy confirmed it is Hodgkin's she is fighting again at least in her chest. Unfortunately from her scan in June until she was taken into the ER the chest mass has grown (not to the original size of her first diagnosis but grown from June) and it has most likely spread into her lungs and also into her abdomen and a few other lymph nodes. I say most likely, as these new areas of growth (multiple) were not biopsied so it's not 100 percent certain but the doctors feel that it is also Hodgkins in these areas as well. So in the span of 2 short months it went from nearly gone to worse than what it started out as.

So what does this mean? Firstly her whole team and others involved are pretty shook that this has regrown and regrown this fast. The one light in this tunnel is that Hodgkins even in a second regrowth/relapse or third has a lot of tools and ways to fight it. Some cancers do not have this light of hope. This will be a scary road and we only have a bit of a outline as to what lies ahead. Her medical team has mentioned a stem cell transplant is very likely in her future and that will be a minimum 4-5 week stay at AFCH.

Miss Mak was diagnosed with stage 2b Hodgkin’s lymphoma in December. She has a very large mass and a gland that has indications as well which makes this stage 2. They say it’s a very treatable cancer, but it was confirmed that this beautiful little sweet pea does have cancer. She has had heaps of testing and procedures already that no kiddo should have to ever go through. Throughout all of this she has done so good and we are so proud of how strong she is.

Makenzee is doing great but unfortunately, she and her family have a journey ahead of them. The expenses are starting to add up even though they have excellent insurance.  Her family has been at her side in and out of the hospital through it all and have not been able to work as much as needed. Any support would be greatly appreciated and will go towards the expenses associated with getting through this diagnosis.
