On April 26, a tragic event unfolded in the Vancouver Lapu Lapu Block Party that left several families deeply affected. Lives were lost, others are fighting to recover, and many are now facing heavy medical, funeral, and living/food expenses.

This fundraiser is organized by Phil Chou, Jessica Cheng, Zharina Pelea, Jared Root-McCaig, Brandon Blue, and Rosalyn Hogg who love this city. We are working together to support the victims and families directly after the heartbreaking tragedy at the Lapu Lapu Festival. But it’s not about us — it’s about standing with the victims and families who need support now more than ever.

We organized this fundraiser to support the victims and families directly, helping with urgent needs like medical costs, funeral expenses, and ongoing support.

When tragedy hits, it’s human to ask, ‘What can I do?’ — and this fundraiser is our way of answering that call together.

One of the co-organizers is a Vancouver-based lawyer and will help ensure that all funds are distributed fairly and transparently.

More than anything, we want the families to know they are not alone — the entire community is standing with them.
