2018 has been a whirlwind year for Kristen and her family.  It started with a lump protruding from her neck.  Initially her primarycare doctor thought the lump may have been caused by an infection.  After several rounds of heavy-dose antibiotics and no change, she was referred to an ear, nose, and throat specialist for further investigation.   An initial biopsy from the lump altered the course of action from a possible infection to lymphnodes being surgically removed.  The biopsy a week later showed cancerous cells present.  Kristen's life has been turned upside down since the diagnosis.  Believing that the cancer was in her tonsils, they were removed, but upon further exploration and biopsy, it was discovered the cancer was in her tongue.  With no prior warning, Kristen is now unable to work and is recovering from surgery prior to starting radiation and chemotherapy.  Kristen will be travelling to Norwich five times per week for her radiation treatments alone and without her income, she and her family could use support to help defray the cost of travel expenses, medical bills, and to help support their household while Kristen is out of work and recovering.
