Support for Kidney Transplant and Medical Bills

In June of 2023, I was diagnosed with kidney failure. It was unexpected and I was in shock and fear for weeks, not knowing what would happen. After being in the hospital for 2 weeks, I ended up having a procedure to put in a catheter in my stomach so that I could do peritoneal dialysis at home every night. It was a lot to understand and deal with. As months went by, I started to understand that it was there to help me, although it was uncomfortable. I gradually became happier and was able to work still.

A year later, in May of 2024, I started becoming sick again, throwing up multiple times daily, having headaches, and just being nauseous every day. I was scared to eat or drink because if I did, I would get sick, even though I was taking my medications and doing my dialysis like I was supposed to. Early July, I ended up having a seizure. My dad found me on the floor and I was rushed to the hospital via ambulance. The doctors quickly found out that the peritoneal dialysis was not giving my body the correct clearance that it needed. My blood pressure was dangerously high, I had a bunch of toxins in my body, and I was in pain. So after the first couple of days in the hospital, the doctors said that we would need to put in another catheter and AV fistula. The first day after the surgery, I was immediately started on hemodialysis. I now am not able to work due to my medical situation. I am on the kidney transplant list and have been for over a year. I have filed for disability but am still waiting for that.

This past year has been very rough on me physically and mentally. I struggle with depression almost every day because I just want to be normal. I am tired of being sick, and having to take medications. I just want to work and have a normal life. I often break down into tears because I am just over all of this. I have had tons of support from my family and am thankful for all of them. Any amount that is donated will be appreciated more than you know as I still have to pay for medical bills and medications. This is a very rough time for me and will be glad when the transplant happens. Thoughts and prayers are appreciated as well. I can use whatever at this time. Thank you.
