Our hearts are shattered as we mourn the tragic and untimely loss of our sweet, vibrant Chloe, who was taken from us far too soon by the senseless actions of a drunk driver. Chloe was carpooling with three of her dear friends and fellow lifeguards after spending time together when another driver, speeding and swerving into oncoming traffic, struck their vehicle head-on. In an instant, a bright, beautiful life full of limitless potential was cut short. The three other young women in the vehicle sustained severe, life-altering injuries—including broken backs and broken legs—and are currently undergoing multiple surgeries, with a long road to recovery ahead. We ask that you keep all of these precious girls and their families in your constant thoughts and prayers.
A Light in Every Room
To know Chloe was to love her. She had an infectious joy and a smile that effortlessly lit up every single room she walked into. Whether she was making silly, quirky faces in photos or making an entire room burst into laughter, her presence was pure sunshine. She loved serving her community as a local lifeguard, and my younger children absolutely adored her. Anyone who ever crossed paths with Chloe immediately felt her warmth.
Chloe had a heart made of gold and a deep passion for children. While she had the talent and drive to do anything in the world she set her mind to, her dream was to become a teacher. She chose that path not for prestige or wealth, but out of pure, genuine love for educating and nurturing children.❤️
An Unbreakable Bond: Chloe and Her Dad, Joe
Having lost her mother at a young age, Chloe became the absolute center of her father Joe’s universe. As a single dad, Joe raised Chloe with the loving support of her grandparents, dedicating every single part of his life to making sure his little girl was happy, cherished, and provided for. Chloe was not just his daughter—she was his entire world, his proudest achievement, and his everything.
Joe is the kind of father who would drop everything in a heartbeat if Chloe ever needed him. You couldn't walk into his home without seeing pictures of her filling every room, a constant reflection of the immense pride and love he carried for her.❤️❤️
The Family We Choose: Our Shared Village
They say friends are the family you choose, and over the years, Joe and Chloe truly became an extension of our own family. We became each other’s village. Whenever Joe couldn’t make a volleyball game, he knew I would be in the stands cheering Chloe on and recording videos for him; whenever I couldn’t be there, Joe made sure he was present to root for Leilani.
I loved Chloe deeply, just like my own daughter, and the bond she shared with Leilani was extraordinary. They were inseparable in high school—two peas in a pod on and off the court. Chloe stood proudly as the Dama of Honor in Leilani’s Quinceañera, and when it came time for Senior Night on the volleyball court—a milestone where players choose the family who means the most to walk with them—Chloe chose Leilani to walk alongside her and Joe. That unforgettable moment captured the depth of their sisterhood and showed just how intertwined our families had become. Having the honor of watching Chloe grow into such a magnificent young woman is a gift I will cherish forever. We will NEVER forget her.
How You Can Help Joe
No parent should ever have to bury their child, especially a devoted single father who poured his entire life into his daughter. Chloe would never want her dad to carry this heavy burden alone or face overwhelming debt in the wake of her passing.
We are raising funds directly for Joe to ensure he is surrounded by love, security, and relief during the difficult days, weeks, and months ahead.
Contributions can help cover:
Memorial and funeral arrangements (visitation, and cremation services).
Celebration of life & vigil costs (candles, memorial shirts, and keepsakes).
Grief therapy and mental health support for Joe.
Open-ended financial relief to give him the time and space he needs to grieve without the stress of daily living expenses or unexpected bills.
If you are able to contribute, any amount—large or small—will make a meaningful difference. If you cannot give financially, sharing this page, honoring Chloe's memory, and sending prayers to Joe and the surviving girls means the world.
Thank you for surrounding Joe and our family with love, grace, and support during this unimaginable time.
