Hi there, my seven week old granddaughter went to a standalone ER with retractions, congestion and a cough. They gave a x-ray and got told they saw viral bronchitis when my daughter asked for them to test her for RSV TWICE they responded with “it will make you stay longer” “regardless of the test results the treatment would be the same and to go home and do nasal spray, nose suction and humidifier. My daughter went home and called the nurses line and they heard the babies breathing and they were told to be rushed to the children’s hospital. When they arrived my granddaughter stopped breathing twice where her oxygen levels went into the 60’s and tested positive for RSV and the Rhinovirus. Only to be admitted into the PICU due to her intense respiratory distress. They have been in there for 4 days and expect to be there for the rest of this week. As they do have insurance, they have a very high co-pay which this is going to cost them a lot of money and her husband has taken another week off work. While it is hard to leave the baby’s side, they also have another child not with them which makes it even more difficult and hard. So I’m just reaching out to see if we can help them out at all. Anything will help with the expenses.
Thank you.
