My name is Alexa, and I’m reaching out during the most difficult time of my life. I was 17 almost 18 weeks pregnant when I became extremely sick. I couldn’t eat, couldn’t get out of bed, and was in constant pain. After several doctor visits, I learned I had gallstones and my gallbladder was in bad shape. The doctors reassured me that my baby would be fine, but after surgery, I started having the worst pain—pain that felt like contractions. Despite my concerns, no one checked on my baby until the very last moment. Alone in my hospital room, I gave birth to my baby, who sadly passed away. The grief and shock have been overwhelming, and I am still trying to process everything that happened.

Now, I am unable to work as I recover physically and emotionally. My husband is also grieving and struggling to get enough hours at his job. We are doing our best to support each other, but the financial strain is heavy. We had to make funeral arrangements for our baby, and I am hoping to get a special urn to honor her memory. With rent and household bills coming up in January, we are worried about keeping our home and making ends meet.
