Our family is heartbroken to share the sudden and unexpected loss of Alan, a loving husband, devoted father, and an important part of so many lives.

What began as an ordinary day playing the sport he loved, turned into every family’s worst nightmare. Alan went to the bench during a hockey game and unexpectedly collapsed. In an instant, his wife and their two young daughters lost someone who meant everything to them.

Alan was the sole provider for his family, while his wife (my sister, Lisa) stayed home caring for their girls. Now, in addition to facing the devastating loss of her husband, my sister is left to navigate an uncertain future and figure out how to provide for her daughters without him.

We are creating this GoFundMe to help ease some of the financial burden during this incredibly difficult time. Donations will go toward medical expenses, everyday living expenses, household bills, and the ongoing needs of the girls as their family adjusts to life without Alan. Our hope is to give my sister the time and space she needs to grieve, care for her daughters, and begin figuring out the next chapter of their lives without the immediate pressure of worrying about how to make ends meet.

No family should have to think about financial survival while trying to process a loss this devastating. We want to surround them with the same love and support that Alan gave to those around him and help provide some stability for his girls as they grow up without their dad.
