October 7, 2025 is the day. The day that forever changed our lives. There is before, and there is after. Emmy wasn't feeling good again, vomiting and wobbly and tired. Alli took her to her 2 year check up and her doctor suggested if she didn't feel better, to take her to the ER for a scan.
The scan showed a massive brain tumor and a lot of fluid putting pressure on the brain. Emmy was whisked away for emergency surgery to insert a drain tube from her brain and then got an MRI. From the time she was whisked away to when her mom and dad were able to see her again was over 6 hours.
The MRI showed the large brain tumor, two lesions or tumors in the right eye and a lesion or tumor in her line of sign in the left eye. She has Trilateral Retinoblastoma. This is an aggressive, rare and very hard to treat cancer. Only 250 kids in the United States have Retinoblastoma and only 1% (2.5 kids A YEAR) of those have Trilateral Retinoblastoma. There are not a lot of studies because this is so rare.
Emmy has already had emergency brain surgery, 2 CT Scans, 1 MRI, 6 days in the PICU and so much more to come. The family needs help covering medical bills and living expenses. Joe will be dropping his hours at work to be at Emmy's treatments and Alli is a stay at home mom. Income is limited. Please consider helping.
