Hi everyone! I'm Elizabeth Esteban. You may have recently heard about my story on the news or social media. I recently got accepted to Harvard College! I come from Thermal, California, a small, underserved community in the Eastern Coachella Valley. Growing up in an underserved community, I never thought I would accomplish one of my biggest goals--attending Harvard. My parents are both field workers, and this inspired me to work hard in high school. I'm currently the executive ASB President at Desert Mirage High School, participated in the Migrant Speech and Debate Team, and earned the title of Valedictorian. In the future, I want to become an Immigration Lawyer to help out the farmworkers in my community. Later on, I plan to run for Congress, and in the future, my ultimate goal is to run for office to become President of the United States (crazy, some may say).

As I approach the next part of my journey, which is college, I know that I will have other living expenses that will not be covered in my scholarship. When I saw the number of messages and comments of people willing to help me out, my uncle convinced me to create this GoFundMe. I appreciate all the people supporting and sharing my story. I will use this money to buy books and cover other living expenses that I will need once I move to Cambridge, Massachusetts. I promise all of you that I will never give up, and I will never forget where I come from. I'll always keep my Mexican and Indigenous blood close to my heart. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
