Echoes in the Valley (EITV) Festival of Music was established in 2017 with the goal of bringing together a wide range of folk, traditional, and indigenous sounds from Nepal and around the world. The festival is Nepal’s only free, international, day-long event dedicated to celebrating folk music and the heritages and cultures rooted in its ecosystems.

EITV strives to uncover, revive, and reimagine Nepal’s intangible heritages and disappearing sounds by showcasing local music, art, and performances drawn from everyday rituals. The festival transforms small neighbourhoods into grand stages—creating musical conversations across generations of Nepali and international musicians, artists, educators, researchers, scholars, and music enthusiasts.

Beyond performances, the festival offers a diverse range of interactive educational initiatives, including a music conference, creative workshops, guided neighbourhood walks, and an open museum of communal art and artifacts.

EITV also supports and celebrates Nepali folk artists and traditional music through artist residencies, music education and mentorship programs, and the development of the Nepal Music Archive—a dedicated portal for music, research papers, and documentation.

Echoes in the Valley is a public, not-for-profit initiative organized by Kanta Dab Dab and produced by Shilpakar & Co., in collaboration with Kutumba, Night, and Phatcowlee. Our mission is to make music and culture accessible to all. A portion of the festival’s funding is raised through fundraising gigs, musician collaborations, and venue partnerships.

Your support can make a real difference in bringing this vision to life. Please consider donating or sharing this link to help support artists and keep this experience free and accessible for everyone.

Thank you for your kindness and support.
