Hello dear friends,
I’m back on track to continue my Destitute to Destiny journey — and I’m more determined than ever to make a difference! For a long time, I couldn’t bring myself to ask for help because I didn’t want a handout. Now I am situated to step up with a hand up.
After surviving homelessness in South Florida for over a year, I’m finally seeing doors open for a new beginning — but I need your help to step across this threshold.
▶️My Story:
Over the past few years, I have experienced some of the hardest seasons of my life. When COVID shutdowns halted my amazing momentum with Cindy’s CHOICE, my resources eventually disappeared. I found a new direction but I took on too much and became very ill; by the time I recovered, everything I had built was gone.
I was offered a great corporate marketing job that only lasted a short time, becausehealth challenges — tied to what was later diagnosed as immunity issues from Asperger’s Syndrome, ADHD and PTSD — caused me to spiral into what became the most devastating autism-related breakdown of my life. My entreprenuer drive is a "want to" but it had become a "have to" early in my life as my health would not hold up in structured and unflexible career roles.
I lost my car, my beach apartment, and absolutely everything I owned. I spent over three months scrounging for food and sleeping on the streets and the public beach alone, dodging police and predators just trying to rest safely. By the grace of God, I now have a 1996 Subaru Outback to sleep in, which is a blessing beyond words compared to the nights I spent even more vulnerable and exposed.
There was a moment when I came close to giving up completely — but Jesus just wouldn’t let me. My faith has become unshakable, and I now know I was being refined for a greater purpose.
↩️The Turning Point:
An incredible opportunity has now presented itself. A respected businessman and investor has agreed to provide seed funding to reestablish Cindy’s CHOICE as a nonprofit organization — a charitable charter built to help others facing the same struggles I’ve endured.
Arrangements are being made for stable housing and a reliable vehicle, but I still need help covering basic living needs — clothing, food, health recovery, and personal essentials — so I can rebuild and relaunch this mission with a solid foundation.
⬆️My Mission:
Everything I’ve endured has shaped my heart for service. I’ve learned firsthand what it means to just survive, and I am now ready to use my voice and experience to advocate for others who are very capable despite some limitations, are missunderstood and overlooked and do not have the much needed relational support to succeed in life.
I am a voice for:
• Adults with Asperger’s Syndrome / Autism
• The homeless (many of whom are neurodivergent)
• Economically disadvantaged families - single mothers especially
• Abandoned and abused children who will struggle to succeed in life.
• Small/mid size businesses, bootstrapping entrepreneurs and more.
Cindy’s CHOICE was always meant to be more than a unique concept — it’s a movement for compassion, connection, and real community transformation. I just need a little help to put some action behind the voice while things come together to relaunch.
How You Can Help:
Your donation will go directly toward:
• Food and daily living essentials
• Health recovery and wellness needs
• Clothing and personal items
• Temporary living expenses while I make preparations to relaunch
Every dollar brings me one step closer to stability — and to making a lasting impact for others who need hope and support.
▶️Closing:
It is so hard for me to ask for help,I have always found a way to make it happen on my own. I’ve learned that even the strongest among us need a hand sometimes. and we become better givers by learing to receive.
I am profoundly grateful for any support you can give — whether through donations, your powerful prayers, or simply by sharing my overcomers story.
Thank you for believing in me. I promise I’ll pay this forward a hundredfold. None of my experiences or your efforts on my behalf will be wasted.
With love and gratitude,
~Cindy~
