On Saturday, September 5th, 2025, Charles experienced one of what his family later learned were multiple strokes. These strokes have left him with some limited mobility on his left side and cognitive issues that have now impacted his ability to work and care for himself.

Charles is a father, husband, faithful servant of the Lord, a sports enthusiast, dog dad, and so, so, so much more. Charles has been a devoted case manager, supporting the San Francisco homeless and incarcerated population for the last 20+ years, working sometimes 6 days a week to make sure his clients' needs are met. Charles has gone above and beyond for his clients, ensuring that they not only have access to housing and rehabilitation services but has also assisted in personal matters like connecting clients with their children, buying clients new wardrobes, and more than anything, treating all clients like human beings deserving of love, care, and a second chance at life. Charles has opened his home to family and friends in need, sacrificing himself for others time and time again. His selfless nature and devotion to God have allowed him to grow an extended family of lifelong friends, past clients, coworkers, and community members.

After all these years of prioritizing others, Charles needs to take time to prioritize himself and his health. We are unsure of how long it will take for him to get back to normal, and this GoFundMe will supplement the lost wages from being out of work. Additionally, Charles and his wife Lola recently purchased a home in August 2025, a lifelong dream of theirs. This GoFundMe will help to keep that dream alive.
