Support Camryn's Journey to Tanzania!

Hello! I am so so excited to announce that I will be traveling on another study abroad experience to Tanzania in May 2025 with the HBCU African Education Coalition (HAEC)! This will be my second year traveling abroad, and my first year where I've received the opportunity of being a logistical coordinator.

HAEC is an organization dedicated to eliminating barriers to study abroad opportunities in Africa and its Diaspora. By fostering global education, HAEC empowers students of African descent with transformative experiences that enrich their academic and cultural growth.

This incredible opportunity builds on my unforgettable trip to Ghana in June 2024, where I engaged in service-learning activities with students from elementary to high school, explored Ghanaian culture through food, people, and the environment, and visited historic landmarks to better understand the country’s history. It was a life-changing experience that deepened my passion for global education and cultural exchange.

For this trip to Tanzania, I’ll not only participate but also serve as a logistical coordinator, recruiting students from NCAT and guiding participants through mentorship and leadership. I’m excited to continue growing as a leader while making meaningful connections with the Tanzanian community and my fellow participants.

I am raising $3,500 to cover flights (to the gateway city and back home), materials for service learning activities/projects, and additional expenses needed while in Tanzania. Your support will directly help me take this next step in my journey of personal growth, cultural exploration, and community impact.

Any additional funds that I do not use will go towards the NCA&T Kevin Gray Scholarship. This scholarship honors HAEC’s former Chief Financial Officer, Kevin Gray, an Aggie alum who unfortunately passed away last year. It will partially fund one student attending North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University going on any trip for HAEC.
