This is Ben, or as his niece and nephews call him, Tio Ben. Tio Ben is a great uncle and my little brother.

A few years ago, when Ben woke up paralyzed on his right side, he was diagnosed with sarcoidosis, an autoimmune disorder that typically affects the lungs but, in Ben's case, affected his brain. Soon, sarcoidosis threatened to take his eyesight as well. Recently, sarcoidosis has been threatening his life- causing congestive heart failure. One month ago, he was put on the heart transplant list. Ben is only 45 years old. He has dreams of traveling and hanging out with his nieces and nephews.
