Want to share an informational post and ask for some financial help and prayers
About 6 weeks ago, Baxter seemed to be having some vision issues. I took him in as soon as I noticed. Unfortunately, he has an eye condition called pannus. Pannus is an eye disorder mostly common with German Shepherds. Baxter is 1/2 German Shepherd and 1/2 Husky. He will be 6 next month. His eyes have always seemed fine, so I was definitely caught off guard. I had noticed some “cloudiness” in his eyes, but it didn’t seem to be affecting him at all.
We had to visit an ophthalmologist, who gave him subconjunctival injections. The hope was that it would clear everything off within a few weeks and we wouldn’t have to go back for another 9-12 months. Sadly, he needs another round of injections and it’s very expensive.
There is no cure for pannus, but we can manage it with another round of injections and daily eye drops. If left untreated, he will go blind.
So, please send up some prayers, send him positive vibes, and if you’re able to help monetarily, we would be so very grateful.
He is a GREAT SOUL and so very important to me and the kids
