Hello! My name is Aurora Jordan, and I do tattoos under the name Rori J Tattoo. I am a novice artist in Huntsville, AL working at Atomic Tattoo and Piercing. I started my tattoo journey officially in 2009 under an abusive apprenticeship and had given up on my dream of tattooing until I met an artist from Columbia that told me Self-Taught artists can make it in this industry. I started back in 2023, purchasing a machine and teaching myself techniques through online courses through Domestika, and Tattooing 101. I was on fake skins only for around 8 months and started on human skin in September of 2023, when Atomic Tattoo opened and gave me a chance.
My journey has been the most rewarding and fulfilling experience of my life. I have been looking for opportunities to improve my work, not only for my own aesthetic satisfaction, but so that I can give the clients who come to me an amazing piece of art that will give them a lifetime of joy.
My self teaching can only go so far without the guidance of a mentor, and unfortunately I live in an area that will not give me a chance to really shine in what I want to do with my art and my career, so I have looked outside my area and at award winning, amazing artists who work in my desired style. That is when I found Andrés Acosta, Acosta Tattoo. His work is phenomenal, colorful, and absolutely stunning. His space and nebula tattoos are exactly the kind of thing I want to be doing, and there isn't anyone local that can teach me the techniques for this.
Andrés Acosta offers one on one, in person, personalized training to develop your own style, and to give tips and techniques as a mentor would. These classes are only available in person and they take place in Austin, Texas, USA. They are dedicated and tailored specifically for each student. His classes range from the introduction to tattooing, to more advanced tattoo knowledge and application skills. These private events can be done in one or two days. Andrés dedicates each day fully to each student with no divided attention.
His classes include:
Two full days access to the class,
Food and beverages,
Cartridges for the workshop,
Fake skin 4x4,
Inks during the class,
A custom color palette of 10 different 1oz inks (they will be delivered to you via Eternalinks after the completion of your class),
20% discount on eternal inks for one order,
PDF with the slides from the presentation,
One day of observation where you can shadow me and ask any question you have while I tattoo a client on a normal day of work. (This can be before or after the two days of class at no cost.),
One online call, one month after the class, to refresh you on any information (Zoom or Discord),
Optional guest spot at my studio, we can discuss after the class,
Certificate of completion.
The cost of this course is $5,000 for two days. The additional requested over this cost will be spent on lodging and travel expenses. (Airfare, Hotel, Rental Car)
