April Mayhem the Popera by Barb Carboy is an eclectic new theatrical work that combines pop rock punk and operatic influences to form a new genre of musical theater, the pop-opera (or Popera for short!). This project aims to engage a diverse range of music enthusiasts, especially those who gravitate beyond traditional musical theater experiences. April Mayhem the Popera seeks to connect with audiences and bring them into a world of mysticism and self-discovery.

We are excited to announce the debut of The Concert from April Mayhem the Popera – a special sneak peek of the full show. The upcoming Off- Broadway event will take place at award winning AMT Theater in New York City, on December 12th, 2024. This performance will serve as a second installment of April Mayhem Songs and Scenes, giving audiences an exclusive first look allowing us to test the waters for a larger production.

We are seeking your help to cover essential production costs to ensure this event is a success. Your contribution will directly support:

Theater rental – Securing the venue for our performance

Paying local artists – Compensating our talented performers

Sound and tech crew – Bringing the vibrant score to life

Creative team – Director, Showrunner

Costumes and staging – Enhancing the visual storytelling

Videographer and editor – preserving the performance to take it to the next level

Additionally for contributions of $100 plus you will get acknowledged in our program and a Concert from April Mayhem the Popera pin. If you contribute $250 or more you will get the limited edition “The Concert from April Mayhem the Popera” tote bag along with the pin and acknowledgement in the program.

We aim to raise $5000 by December 1, 2024 to cover these costs. With your help, this concert will pave the way for a full-scale production of April Mayhem the Popera!
