Hello, my name is Katrina and on October 17, 2025, my 15-year-old Godson was a passenger on an e-bike and they were hit by a car in Oceanside, NY. He was unconscious and transported to South Nassau Hospital as a trauma.

His mother works as an ER registrar and was on her last hour of a double shift when they called trauma. She was going to get information so she could register the patient, only to see it was her baby boy. He was first only treated for a fractured tibia and foot. After two CT scans, it was determined that he also had a bleed on his brain and he was going to be transferred to Cohen's Children Medical Hospital. He was then intubated and transported from South Nassau to Cohen's by the Pediatric Trauma team at Cohen's.

It has been an extremely emotional journey for everyone involved. His mother has not left his side since he was brought in. His father, unfortunately, had to return to work and commute their youngest daughter back and forth to school, but every evening he is back at the hospital at his son's side.

Andry is a miracle. He has come so far since his accident. The power of prayer and the love and support from everyone is a true blessing. We are forever grateful for everyone that sent prayers, well wishes, and food. We thank you so much.

Andry will be going to a children’s rehabilitation center about an hour and a half away. His mother will be accompanying him. We will keep you posted on his journey. Thank you all again.
