Support Amir's Journey After Tragic Injury
Donation protected
Amir Seck, age 16, of Brooklyn, New York, was tragically paralyzed from the waist down as a result of a gunshot wound accident on June 21. By the grace of God, Amir’s life has been spared but also forever changed.
The Accident
On the afternoon of June 21, 2025, a day no parent would ever imagine, a day no then 15-year-old would ever think would happen, marks a day that changed Amir’s life and his family’s lives forever. Amir was outside at a BBQ/Basketball tournament enjoying the day when gunshots rang out. The accident left him paralyzed from the waist down due to a T9 Spinal Cord Injury to his back. I was informed by doctors his injury is complete, which means he will not be able to walk again, but no matter what the outcome is, God has the last say.
Due to this tragic accident, we are seriously affected mentally, physically, emotionally, and financially. We are forced to move out of our apartment of fourteen years because we have a fourth-floor walk-up, which leaves us having to find a new home that is wheelchair accessible. I am also unable to work until further notice because I have to care for Amir and his twin brother. As a single mother, this is very overwhelming. Being out of work with no pay, knowing we have bills, medical expenses, and all the equipment he is going to need, is a lot to take in. I am comforted in knowing that God has a perfect plan for Amir. We might never understand why, but we trust that God will work this out for our good. We will take this one day at a time.
Amir is currently in good spirits, slowly processing everything. Although he has his moments from time to time, this is expected. Amir is currently in an intensive acute rehabilitation where he’s receiving Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Recreational Therapy every day. Amir is on the road to recovery; the goal is working on building his upper body strength and becoming fully independent.
Your generous donations would be greatly appreciated. As you consider contributing, thank you for taking the time to be part of his remarkably challenging yet hopeful journey.
