I am reaching out to you today to share the story of my courageous 14-year-old niece, Allie. Just as she was stepping into the exciting world of high school, she received a life-altering diagnosis: papillary thyroid cancer. While many teenagers are focused on making new friends and navigating their first days of high school, Allie is faced with a battle that no child should have to endure.

Allie is a bright, talented young girl. Her smile lights up a room, and her spirit is unbreakable. Unfortunately, she and her devoted mother, Loraine, will now have to manage not only the emotional toll of this diagnosis but also the practicalities involved in her treatment. They will need to travel three hours to Portland for essential appointments with oncologists and surgeons. Each trip will come with its own set of costs—fuel, food, medical expenses, and, particularly during a time when Loraine will need to take time off work to support Allie.

We are setting up this GoFundMe campaign to help alleviate some of the financial burdens that come with her treatment and travel.
